Mary-Ellen is a viewer in CALIFORNIA who sent in this picture of
her cat Kodama. He was found by the side of the road in Taiwan. He was
weak, but still struggled to drag himself into the bush when he saw
people approaching.
He was saved by a Chinese animal rescue who
said his condition was so bad that his external wounds were covered in
maggots when they shaved off his fur. He had a severe underbite and his
head was twisted. It sat on his neck in a permanent tilt.
Against the vet's advice to euthanize Kodama, he was sent to America where he went to live with Mary-Ellen. I'm happy to report he's healthy and well-tended now. Even if he does look permanently pissed off.

He says thanks! I named him after those weird little tree spirits in Princess Mononoke whose heads spin around like his does.

Wow - I'm so glad he is healthy now, except for the frog growing out of the back of his head. :-/ Well, you can't have everything.

I'm so happy for Kodama and Mary-Ellen that they found each other. Kodama looks wonderful and you can tell he is loved and cared for. This is a lovely Christmas story with the happiest of endings.
