RIP Rags.
My cat Daphne ate some thread from a little sewing kit one time. I woke up one morning and this sewing kit was just hanging from her mouth like a fish hook. Scared the bejesus out of me but luckily it was really crappy sewing kit thread (it essentially dissolved when pulled on) and the vet said she was fine.

Poor Rags! I hope seeing Rags on CWC cheers your sister up some.

Awww... I'm sure Rags will be missed.
Shouldn't there be a section for dogs and the weird things they've eaten? My dog ate a skipping rope as a puppy--the orange plastic-y kind, and it was a long one. Spent two weeks at the vet, but if they had to remove intestines, my folks spared us the gory details.

What a story. I hope Rags met my dog Friend in whatever section of Heaven is reserved for good dogs.

sorry to hear about rags, it's amazing he lived through all of that to begin with!
while on the subject of weird things dogs have eatten, my dog recently got into the crafts in my basement. not knowing, i took her like normal to her check up. when the vet went to look at her teeth, her smile was covered in green sparkles!!
not to mention the poo sample was extra sparkly as well.
now she mostly sticks to eating paper towel rolls, magazines, textbooks and post it notes

That dog is insane for being able to live through all of that.
