Homer from ARIZONA writes: "...Hello Chris, it's Gay Bear Homer from Arizona. Last week this hen appeared in my backyard. I have no clue where she came from. I had a vote on my blog and the name Henny-Penny (suggested by my Mum) received the most votes. She has laid three light green eggs so far. I luv Henny-Penny, she is the bestest. sincerely, Gay Bear Homer."
Henny-Pennies don't seem to have the best luck: sky falling, frozen to ground (http://www.cutewithchris.com/found-frozen-to-the-ground.html). Keep us updated on what tragedy befalls her! ;)

To answer a previously asked question, light green eggs are normal for certain breeds of chicken. Most colours, ranging from blue through green, and dark brown through to white are 'normal' depending on the breed you have.

Homer - you have found a winner! Sorry Brett. Aracauna chickens are the best. They are named after a tribe in South America. Each chicken has it's own unique plumage; no two look the same but there are family resemblances. You can tell which ones have laid each egg by the individual shell color - from blue to green to pink. They are super smart and even have personalities, not like some cookie-cutter chicken breeds. They are the perfect chicken for a bear because they even have little beards themselves!

Pardon the surface noise. My copy of "Teddy Bear" isn't in bad shape, but the sequels are pretty rough. I think, however, that the scratches add something to the listening experience. And lest this little collection of maudlin tripe reflect too poorly on the South
