Then, at some ruins, I also stumbled upon a cat. Homeless animals abounded everywhere and I eventually witnessed a stray dog attacking a gypsy... good times!!
Kim from LOS ANGELES writes: "...This super cute cat lived behind my house, and wanted to desperately live inside my house but I always refused. Last week I came home to find her in my room hanging out with all my stuff on my bed. I have no idea how she got into the house. Srsly all the doors were locked. No idea. Furthermore, the only word in French I know is "le chat". This was obviously not a coincedence. I imediately bought a plane ticket to Paris (leaving in 6 days) and will be there for six weeks. 18 year-old Denita in OREGON writes: "...This was my family's adorable Maltese puppy Eddie. I loved him. He was funny, sweet, and playful. Unfortunately, we were having difficulty housebreaking him, and my stepmom couldn't take it anymore. We gave him away...."
For 18 months, Day-Z lived in a 4x6 cage at the dog shelter waiting for someone to love her. Day after day she was ignored, and passed over for Labradoodles and fluffy Malteses, until she was adopted by Hollywood homeowner Mary. She writes: "...Hey Chris, I just wanted to give you a quick update on Day-Z. We recently discovered a small red growth on the inner corner of her eye. After taking Day-Z to an animal eye specialist in Sherman Oaks we found out that she has eye cancer caused by UV rays from the sun. The good news is that we caught it very early and it is treatable. She's had one surgery and she has one more to go. In the meantime, I decided to protect her eyes from UV rays with these doggy goggles."
Michelle from OTTAWA saw my recent post on Finnegan the VET CAT. She writes: "...Hi Chris! Yay Finnegan! He was formerly known as Paco! He was adopted from the animal shelter I work at. He came in with a bad eye infection back in February, and we fostered him out and got his eye removed (called "enucleation"). Attached is his photo; I also made a video of him and put it on YouTube. He hung out at my cubicle's mate desk for a while, until the vet clinic decided to adopt him in July. Seeing Finnegan on your blog has completely made my day!"
